This girl asked me to specifically mention that this is not a dress, it is a mumu.
 JOYFUL.
If you look closely at this photo you can see Dani's chin piercing silhouetted! I think that's charming.

UniStyle: Black Swan, ANU

This is a face I am used to seeing on people's faces when I photo-ambush them.

It is the face of UNCERTAINTY. Don't worry guys! I just wanna see your swans!
Nice Swans.

PS. as always, I really want to thank everyone who lets me take photos of them. Thanks dudes.

Fash'n Treasure win, Old Bus Depot Markets

Fash'n Treasure blew my mind.
Apparently the turn-out was unimpressive on account of Foreshore, but that just meant more cool shit for the rest of us. I bought so much for SO LITTLE MONEY.
As well as some really great vintage, people were making stuff! Don't even try to hold me back from craft.
These are earring made out of sunglasses' arms. I may never be more chuffed.
Sigh.
Now if you really wanted to go to Fash'n Treasure, but you didn't know it was on and missed it, I suggest time-travel or simply just remind yourself to check Party By Jake more often. This is where I blog and tell you about these amazing things.

Carly Q Design, Old Bus Depot Markets

Have you always wanted a minimal dress that's also feminine? Local gal Carly Q is making your dress!
The website isn't up yet but I found her at The Old Bus Depot Market's awesome event, Fash -n- Treasure.
Adorable.

We are down to restricted posts while Flick is away in England. Please pray to the Mother Goddess that the ash cloud doesn't swallow her so she can come back to us.

Hey! Ever want to dress like Garçons?
I had to struggle out an essay on Comme des Garçons' early, grey, oversized, layer-y clothes and now all I want is a big black dress to drown in.
This is the money here but I question whether even this is big enough. I am talking about, say...a tent here people.
Oh yeah, a huge CdG marquee for the style win.

PS: No-one has ever needed to know the degree of postmodernism in the above dress. HOWEVER if you DO want to know exactly that, boy! do I have the paper for you!

UniStyle: Union Court Grass, ANU

We saw a girl today and did a bit of a double take...
... because, yes, it's a shirt with dog portraits all over it.
It is a shirt that answers your question "why?" with a resounding "why not?" Awesome. Also:
Love love.

I am rough on the laws regarding publishing photos without the subject's permission. Here's hoping they are lax!
I stared at this photo too long once and the back slits turned into eyes for the dress. Angry eyes.

Walking around in our summertime clothes..., Civic

Summer should be about lying in a hammock, reading poetry and sipping ice tea. It should also be about wearing bright patterns. Here is a haiku for you to read while horizontal-hammocking and tea-sipping:

The sunshine was bright
But the dresses were brighter
I want air con please

and yes, in a bold and daring move, we have included our very own blogger, Vicki. She was too summery to miss!
